IGCSE Physics Tutor | BSc Physics

I’ve taught IGCSE Physics for ten years and still enjoy mechanics most, particularly forces and momentum. My students learn to sketch the situation before choosing an equation, which prevents a lot of avoidable mistakes. I’m quite particular about units and clear working too. In the months before exams, we use mixed past-paper questions so students have to recognise which principle applies rather than being told the topic in advance.

IGCSE Physics Tutor | BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Hi! I came into Physics tutoring through electrical engineering and have been teaching IGCSE students for five years. Circuits and electromagnetism are easily my favourite topics because there’s so much we can draw and reason through together. I use a digital whiteboard for most lessons and keep things pretty informal. After an explanation, I’ll change part of the problem and ask the student what that should do to the answer.

IGCSE Physics Tutor | BEng Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering

Before tutoring full time, I worked in mechanical engineering, so I naturally use plenty of practical examples when teaching Physics. I’ve now spent seven years working with IGCSE students. Energy, pressure and thermal physics are particular interests of mine. Calculations are taught step by step at first, but I gradually remove the prompts. Students also practise estimating results so they can spot calculator answers that simply cannot be sensible.

IGCSE Physics Tutor | BEng Aerospace Engineering

My background is in aerospace engineering, and I started tutoring six years ago. Motion, moments and forces are the parts of IGCSE Physics I probably enjoy a little too much! I like beginning with a physical situation before introducing the equations behind it. Lessons involve plenty of problem solving rather than long explanations from me. If a question goes wrong, we trace the reasoning back and find the first point where it stopped making sense.

I’m an experienced science teacher with more than twelve years in secondary education and extensive IGCSE Physics teaching experience. My sessions combine concise explanations with questioning, calculations and practical applications. Waves are a particular interest, especially refraction and electromagnetic radiation. I also devote considerable time to experimental questions, including variables, graph interpretation, measurement and evaluating procedures.

IGCSE Physics Tutor | BEng Materials Engineering

Materials engineering gave me a different route into Physics, and it still influences the examples I use in lessons. I’ve worked with IGCSE students for eight years and particularly enjoy density, thermal properties and electricity. I often bring unfamiliar materials or situations into questions so students cannot rely on memorised examples. Exam preparation is systematic: timed sections, detailed corrections and another attempt at anything that caused trouble.

"My Physics tutor has made difficult topics much easier to understand. We worked through forces, motion and energy using simple examples before moving on to exam questions. I used to get stuck on calculations, but now I know which equations to use and feel much more confident."
Brandon|IGCSE Physics Student
"I was nervous about my Physics exams because I struggled with electricity and circuits. My tutor was very patient and showed me how to approach each question step by step. We also practised past-paper questions regularly, which has really improved my confidence and my marks."
Jessica|IGCSE Physics Student
"I've had a really positive experience with Physics tutoring. My tutor explains waves and electromagnetic topics clearly and always checks that I understand before moving forward. The online lessons are easy to follow, and I can ask questions whenever something doesn't make sense. I feel much better prepared for my exams now."
